2010-06-10file: don't force _GNU_SOURCE in CFLAGSPeter Korsgaard
Breaks the build with BR2_CONFIG_CACHE, and isn't needed anyway, as the configure script figures out to add _GNU_SOURCE to config.h anyway. Signed-off-by: Peter Korsgaard <jacmet@sunsite.dk>
2010-06-09file: use new-style target override for uninstallPeter Korsgaard
As suggested by Thomas. Signed-off-by: Peter Korsgaard <jacmet@sunsite.dk>
2010-06-08file: bump version and migrate to autotargetsGustavo Zacarias
Closes #1927 [Peter: host-zlib is a dependency of host-file, not file] Signed-off-by: Gustavo Zacarias <gustavo@zacarias.com.ar> Signed-off-by: Peter Korsgaard <jacmet@sunsite.dk>
2010-04-11Do not let packages remove man pages, info pages and documentationThomas Petazzoni
The cleanup of $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/share/man, $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/man, $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/share/info, $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/info, $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/share/doc and $(TARGET_DIR)/usr/doc is already done globally in the main Makefile. Therefore, there's no need to handle that on a per-package basis. Signed-off-by: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@free-electrons.com>
2009-10-01buildroot: silence ./configure step when building with 'make -s'Peter Korsgaard
We have been passing -q to ./configure when using 'make -s' for packages using Makefile.autotools.in for some time. Do the same for packages using autotools, but not using the Makefile.autotools.in infrastructure, taking care to not do it for packages with hand written configure scripts. Signed-off-by: Peter Korsgaard <jacmet@sunsite.dk>
2009-09-23rename TOOL_BUILD_DIR to TOOLCHAIN_DIRMichael Roth
To reflect the new output directory hierachy rename the Makefile variable TOOL_BUILD_DIR to TOOLCHAIN_DIR. Signed-off-by: Michael Roth <mroth@nessie.de> Signed-off-by: Peter Korsgaard <jacmet@sunsite.dk>
2009-09-03package: Remove unnecessary dependencies on uclibc. Will Newton
A C library will have been built by the toolchain makefiles, so there is no need for packages to explicitly depend on uclibc. Signed-off-by: Will Newton <will.newton@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Peter Korsgaard <jacmet@sunsite.dk>
2009-01-16package/: convert to DOWNLOAD helperPeter Korsgaard
2008-12-08package/: get rid of unneeded $(strip ..)Peter Korsgaard
2008-09-02file: select zlibPeter Korsgaard
file depends on zlib, so make it visible in kconfig.
2008-09-02file: bump version and use official upstream instead of DebianPeter Korsgaard
Debian is a bit too volatile.
2008-08-04buildroot: remove trailing spacesPeter Korsgaard
for i in `find -name 'Config*' -o -name 'Makefile*' -o -name '*.mk'`; do sed -i 's/ \+$//' $i; done
2008-07-17Kconfig: remove 'default n'Peter Korsgaard
'default n' is the default, so there's no need to say it explicitly.
2008-07-04The build of 'file', needs to run 'file' natively, so provide a valid linkUlf Samuelsson
2008-06-16file: bump versionPeter Korsgaard

2008-04-01buildroot: additional -clean target fixesPeter Korsgaard

2007-10-01- just use the strip binary to avoid confusing libtool (quotes)Bernhard Reutner-Fischer

2007-08-05- download disappeared, use debian insteadBernhard Reutner-Fischer
2007-07-11Use <package>_VERSION in all <package>.mk instead of <package>_VERUlf Samuelsson
2007-07-07- using $(STAGING_DIR)/include is inherently wrong. $(STAGING_DIR)/usr/includeBernhard Reutner-Fischer
is the proper path for includes (check your host)
2007-07-06Bump versions."Steven J. Hill"
2007-07-06Remove usage of TARGET_LDFLAGS all together. Both TARGET_CFLAGS and ↵"Steven J. Hill"
TARGET_LDFLAGS are passed with the compilers and linker respectively so that we can pass CFLAGS and LDFLAGS on a per-package basis which was not possible previously and a number of packages failed to build. TARGET_CFLAGS usage in package makefiles will be removed next.
2007-06-27- add endian handling, mmap, memcmp checks to TARGET_CONFIGURE_ARGSBernhard Reutner-Fischer
- use TARGET_CONFIGURE_ARGS where appropriate.
2007-06-09- bump versionBernhard Reutner-Fischer

2007-03-07- some more CONFIG_UPDATEs by Haavard SkinnemoenBernhard Reutner-Fischer
2007-01-16Fix failed build due to addition of '--libdir=/lib' which changed the ↵"Steven J. Hill"
location of where libmagic.a and libmagic.la were located.
2007-01-14fixup a whole steaming pile of insanity. When packages are configured,Eric Andersen
they should be configured with --prefix=/usr and we then need to use make DESTDIR=$(STAGING_DIR) install to get things installed into the staging directory. The current situation for many packages, which use --prefix=$(STAGING_DIR) results in the staging_dir paths getting compiled into the binary itself. This also adds in a pile of libtool fixups. Between broken pkgconfig, broken libtool handling, and broken --prefix settings, its a wonder things have worked as well as they have up till now. -Erik
2006-12-15- bump version, mv the libmagic.a to the staging dir and peruse one sourcedirBernhard Reutner-Fischer
for both host and target build. Thanks to Ulrich Hecht.
2006-10-01- use $(ZCAT) as configured by the user instead of hardcoded 'zcat' that may ↵Bernhard Reutner-Fischer
not exist; Closes #971 Silly, unchecked sed -i -e "/[^b]zcat/s/zcat/\$\(ZCAT\)/g" $(svngrep "[^b]zcat" * -rl | grep -v Config.in)

2005-09-08only build host-file if we need itMike Frysinger
2005-08-30Build 'file' for the host as well as the target. If the host system has a ↵"Steven J. Hill"
version older than that being built for buildroot, the target build will fail. So, we build 'file' for the host and add actually add '$(TOOL_BUILD_DIR)/bin' to the TARGET_PATH so that it takes precedence over the host system version.
2005-08-18file-4.15 is out and it supports cross-compiling :DMike Frysinger
2005-07-13file-4.12 is no longer availableEric Andersen
2005-02-10There is no need to have a separate 'Makefile.in' file in theEric Andersen
